JEPLAN, INC. (Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao, hereinafter “JEPLAN” ) has been sponsoring the Yokohama Marathon as an Official Partner since 2022, marking its fourth year this year. For the Yokohama Marathon 2025 (hereinafter “the event”) to be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, commemorating the 10th anniversary of its transition to a full marathon, JEPLAN has collaborated with PUMA Japan Co., Ltd . (hereinafter “PUMA Japan”) to create a specially designed participant T-shirt. The T-shirt body incorporates “BLANK APPAREL™” , which uses 100% fiber-derived recycled polyester as part of its material.

Furthermore, efforts will be made to collect the cold-weather gear discarded at the starting point, an issue that has become a challenge at marathon events in recent years. This year, in addition to the collaboration between JEPLAN and the Yokohama Marathon, a special team will be formed with the cooperation of NPO HpRun *1, a student organization promoting sports development and social contribution activities, to carry out the collection activities.

This large-scale event attracts more than 20,000 runners every year and is actively engaged in sustainable event management. In recent years, marathons have faced the issue of warm clothing that is taken off at the start of the race. This is because many runners wear disposable warm clothes to keep themselves warm until just before the start and then take them off at the start.

In order to solve this problem, we have been collecting warm clothes at the start of the race since 2023. As the initiative continues, awareness of the issue among participating runners has increased, and last year the amount of winter clothes taken off decreased.

This year, JEPLAN, Yokohama Marathon, and NPO HpRun will collaborate to organize a collection team to collect warm clothing at the starting point. In addition, at the Yokohama Marathon Festa to be held at Rinko Park, the finish line, we will also collect unwanted sportswear and other clothing at our booth. Collected clothing, including winter clothes, will be reused and recycled through the BRING platform, thereby reducing waste and recycling resources at the same time.

Furthermore, the body of this year's participation prize T-shirt will be made of BLANK APPAREL™, a 100% fiber-derived recycled polyester as part of its material, and will feature a special design to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Yokohama Marathon becoming a full marathon. The sustainable material is characterized by its high functionality and ease of use on the skin.

The JEPLAN Group will continue to promote collaboration with partners in Japan and overseas to realize its mission of making everything go round, and the entire group will work together to drive the circular economy.
