JEPLAN, INC. (Headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao) and TEIJIN FRONTIER CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka City; President and Chief Executive Officer: Yasunari Hirata) will begin exploring new initiatives concerning the resource circulation for apparel.
The initiative under consideration aims to further promote the resource circulation of apparel by collaborating across the entire recycling process. This includes linking the two companies' respective used clothing collection networks, sorting and separating collected clothing, and ultimately achieving resource recovery through appropriate recycling methods.

Background of the Initiative
Since 2010, JEPLAN has partnered with apparel brands to collect used clothing at retail locations. Collected clothes are effectively utilized as resources through reuse and recycling in collaboration with partner companies. Furthermore, JEPLAN is engaged in “fiber-to-fiber” recycling, regenerating recycled polyester from 100% polyester clothing. Through the development of its own apparel brand “BRING™” utilizing this recycled polyester, JEPLAN aims to realize a circular economy.
TEIJIN FRONTIER has been refining its polyester recycling technology for many years since it began selling ECOPET®, a recycled polyester fiber, in 1995, and from 2022 will collaborate with Fiber CDM Co.,Ltd. a company engaged in the reuse and recycling of used garments, to build a circular system through collection, sorting, and efficient recycling of used garments.
JEPLAN and TEIJIN FRONTIER have decided to work together to improve the efficiency of clothing collection and create a reuse and recycling system, in the expectation that further resource recycling can be promoted by leveraging each other's strengths in cooperation.

Future Developments
In the future, we will expand our efforts toward establishing a new “fiber-to-fiber” recycling system, aiming to build a framework that promotes the reuse and recycling of discarded clothing.
