JEPLAN, INC. (Head Office: Kanagawa, Japan; Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao; hereafter “JEPLAN”) is pleased to announce its participation as a member in the “GX Strategic Regional Promotion Consortium ” led by Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The Consortium was established with the aim of promoting, through public–private collaboration, the introduction of decarbonized energy, the development of a circular economy–based industrial structure, and the creation of new GX industries, starting from industrial complexes within Yamaguchi Prefecture, in preparation for designation as a “GX Strategic Region*1”, which the national government plans to establish in 2026.
As a deep-tech company centered on proprietary technologies, JEPLAN will actively contribute to the realization of GX industry creation by engaging in a range of initiatives under key GX projects, including the formation of a cluster of new GX industries and the promotion of resource and carbon circulation.

■ Planned Initiatives Led by JEPLAN
JEPLAN possesses proprietary chemical recycling technology that chemically depolymerizes used PET products and regenerates them into high-purity monomers. In Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, JEPLAN operates a commercial-scale chemical recycling plant with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons, supplying the recycled PET resin produced at the facility as raw material for PET bottles to customers such as beverage manufacturers, and has steadily built a proven track record of mass production and sales.
Building on this technological expertise and operational achievements, JEPLAN plans to participate in the establishment of a chemical recycling PET resin manufacturing hub in the Iwakuni–Otake area, which Yamaguchi Prefecture has designated as a priority project for promoting resource and carbon circulation.
JEPLAN positions this initiative as the next stage in further expanding the social implementation of circular plastics. Leveraging its proprietary technology with proven commercial performance, the Company will promote process transformations that contribute to the GX transition of existing industrial complex operators, while also working to recycle a wider range of PET materials—including industrial films that have traditionally been difficult to recycle—and to create new demand and markets.
Through these efforts, JEPLAN aims to steadily expand the overall PET circularity, including bottle-to-bottle recycling, and, in collaboration with GX funds and the broader ecosystem, accelerate GX projects that deliver value to both local communities and industry, while establishing a more sustainable resource circulation model.
Going forward, the JEPLAN Group will continue to advance collaboration with partners in Japan and abroad to realize its mission of “We circulate our world”

■ FY2025 First Petrochemical Complex Collaboration Meeting
At the collaboration meeting held on January 29, 2026, a ceremonial event was conducted. For the ceremony, a board was created featuring the Yamaguchi Prefecture slogan, “Revitalizing MADE IN JAPAN starts in Yamaguchi Prefecture” displayed at the center, surrounded by leaf-shaped elements bearing the logos of the municipalities, companies, and other organizations participating in the meeting.
