PET REFINE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. (Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer: Daigo Iga; hereinafter “PET REFINE TECHNOLOGY”), a group company of JEPLAN, INC. (Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer: Masaki Takao; hereinafter “JEPLAN”), hereby announces that, on September 14, 2026, it fully redeemed in accordance with the terms of the agreement the JPY 400 million in ordinary bonds with a subordination clause*1 issued in September 2021 and underwritten by the Green Finance Promotion Organization (Representative Director: Yuji Iino; hereinafter “Green Finance”).
The bonds were financed through the Green Fund operated by Green Finance under the Ministry of the Environment’s Regional Decarbonization Investment Promotion Fund Program. The proceeds were used for a project to restart the chemical recycling plant owned by PET REFINE TECHNOLOGY in Kawasaki City. The project was launched as initially planned, and the plant has continued to operate steadily since then. The bonds reached maturity in accordance with their terms and have now been fully redeemed.
The Green Fund is a financing mechanism designed to catalyze private-sector investment by providing capital-like funding to decarbonization projects, thereby advancing both a decarbonized society and regional revitalization. The financing provided through the bonds enabled the plant to restart operations, helping create local employment and establish a system for circulating used PET bottles as resources. We believe that bringing this business, which contributes to regional decarbonization and resource circulation, onto a stable footing and completing the redemption represent an outcome aligned with the purpose of the Fund. We would once again like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at Green Finance for their support over the past five years, not only in financing but also across various aspects of business operations.
To realize its mission of “We circulate our world,” the JEPLAN Group will continue to collaborate with partners in Japan and overseas and work as one group to drive the circular economy.
